Measuring system for continuous, real-time monitoring of viscoelastic properties
Online-Rheometer ROR
A Rotational Online Rheometer (ROR) is an industrial proven testing instrument integrated to an lab extruder to continuously measure the viscoelastic properties of fluids or polymer melts in real time. Unlike traditional lab rheometers that require manual sample collection, or capillary process rheometers that measure steady shear viscosity, an ROR provides instantaneous feedback on molecular structure (e.g., molecular weight distribution, branching) and flow behavior without manual sample collection and preparation.
Good to know
While conventional rotational rheometers in the lab mainly capture polymer structure at low frequencies, and capillary rheometers describe flow behavior at high shear rates, the ROR combines the advantages of both approaches:
fast, process-relevant data on polymer structure and flow behavior in real-time.
