In the following graph, a measurement with high-density polyethylene at constant, slow acceleration is plotted as an example. The test is carried out at an exit temperature of 190°C at a mass throughput of 1.5 g/min with a die L/D = 30 / 2 mm in the deflection head and a spinning length of 1300 mm. The strand is accelerated constantly at 0.7 m/s² until break-off. At approx. 1300 m/min, the strand breaks.
